Performance wise, it cleaned carpet well due to its patented dual rotating power brushes and has a reasonably fast drying time of under 4 hours. At the same time, this product comes with an amazing 3-year limited warranty!When compared to the other models, Bissell delivers a little extra in this regard, and I appreciate this greatly.
It comes with a generous limited three-year warranty, which is well above average and will provide security during a lot of your time using it. BISSELL has a helpful website with multiple online tutorials. Customer support is very attentive and responded quickly to our questions.
With innovative features, this product indeed offers a lot of advantages. It features the EdgeSweep technology that cleans on baseboards along with the Surround Suction that helps quick drying of surfaces. Its Heatwave Technology maintains consistent water temperature all through the process of cleaning.
It provides outstanding cleaning results. Clean the pet hair without machine disfunction due to hair clogging. It is simple to set up and easy to use. It is also very easy to clean after use (this is a great upside because other upright carpet cleaner is a bit harder to clean after use. The Bissell 17N4P machine head can be removed and you can clean it easily).
Ergonomic design that’s easy to maneuver and very lightweight. Rubber seals prevent water leakage. Works great on pet hair and stains. Easy to assemble, clean and maintain. Gets close to walls and baseboards. Sucks up excess water to speed drying time.
What reviewers didn't like
It’s big and heavy (25 pounds), with no cord clip or foot switch, and usually it has a hefty price tag of around $230. On top of all that, it didn’t work as well as other models, even seeming to smear dirt and soil in some areas.
It lacks a few higher end key features, which make it unreliable for commercial use, but homeowners should not rule it out.
It makes good use of space by separating clean water and solution from dirty water all within the same tank, but it was still heavy, bulky and hard to maneuver generally.
While it contains more water, you may find unit a bit heavy.
People require a bigger water tank size ( Bissell 17N4P has 1.25 Gallons tank size, the same with most of Bissell full size grade cleaning machine).( In the future, will Bissell design another version with bigger tank?)
While overall, review after review of people who use this model on a regular basis love it and say it’s an excellent value for the price, it would be nice if it could be used for hardwood floors as well. Most cleaners of this type are meant for one or the other (bare floors or carpet), and this one is no exception.
