The 7865cc is a newer version of the Series 7 that Braun introduced in 2016. But the cutting head remains the same as those we tested in 2015, so it’ll provide the same close shave.
It has 8-direction contour capability to reach through sensitive areas during shaving. The head of the razor consists of 4 shaving elements, exclusively 3 cutters and 1 skin guard for deep and smooth hair capture.
It has two foils, with a trimmer that’s positioned between them. The foils are very efficient in shaving shorter hairs that are closer to the skin, while the trimmer takes care of longer hairs and those that lay flat against the skin.
Other noteworthy features include a 5-minute quick charge function, pop-up trimmer, precision lock, wet & dry operation.
The Intelligent AutoSense Technology will automatically adapt to your beard by checking the bristle density 13 times per second. It will adjust the Shaver power to deliver efficient shaving results.
Even if you’re sporting a three-day beard due to a hectic schedule, the Braun Series 7 7865cc and its synchronized shaving elements should glide right through the scruff. Its flexible head is designed to adapt to your skin and access hard-to-reach areas with ease.
While you can choose 5 different speeds, the razor will also adjust to the density of your beard as you use it. This should help reduce skin irritation and help you get through the thick parts of your beard.
What reviewers didn't like
Expensive price of the device itself and the replacement parts
The only major issue I’ve noticed here is that the Braun Shaver Series 7 doesn’t feature a travel lock. Even though the power button requires quite some force to enough, a travel lock still would’ve been a nice addition.
Sadly, there’s still no travel lock.
A travel case is somewhat of poor qualty.
This electric shaver is a little more expensive but as with most things in life, you get what you pay for.
