From The Manufacturer
The smartest bread maker. Ever. There’s nothing like waking up to a freshly baked loaf of bread. But when there are over 60 different recipes to choose from, how do you make sure you get it right. A very clever interface computes temperature and baking time when you make a selection, while a super easy Turn and Confirm dial gets you started on any recipe in seconds. It even lets you select what time you want the bread to be ready, adds fruits and nuts at the appropriate time, and lets you create your own recipes. It’s the greatest thing since, well you know.
Expert Reviews
What reviewers liked
It has some nice features, like an automatic fruit and nut dispenser and the ability to adjust the time on any cycle as well as program your own.
Another advantage to this product is the ability to create a plethora of foods that go far beyond a loaf of bread. Instead, you can create dough, jam, and custom recipes along with gluten-free and while wheat items.
Breville calls the BBM800XL the “smartest bread maker. Ever.” We can see why. This machine is BEAUTIFUL. If you compare bread machines to cell phones, the Breville BBM800XL would be a smartphone and every other bread machine a regular phone. Immediately, we noticed that the LCD screen is large.
The LCD control panel is large, easy to read and easy to understand.
An automatic fruit and nut dispenser is built into the lid of this Breville bread maker. The capacity of the fruit and nut dispenser is about a 3/4 cup size.
You can easily see the readout on the front panel, even as you wake up bleary-eyed in the morning. The LCD is large enough to see everything in one glance. You can even customize settings for some of the more complex bread recipes.
What reviewers didn't like
But it’s violently loud when kneading, and it overcooked the sides of every loaf we made.
One of the disadvantages of the Breville BBM800XL includes something with the collapsible kneading paddles.
The only thing we found awkward after unwrapping is realizing how much space it takes on the counter. So if you don’t have much counter space, it could be a problem for you or you’ll have to make some!
Unfortunately, the most consistent complaint about the Breville bread maker happens to be this collapsible paddle.
It does not have yeast duspenser.
Collapsible Paddle Flaw: It can take a significant chunk of bread, especially ones made of cornmeal.
