How do you perfectly toast any slice no matter what type of bread? Add an extra 30 seconds for well that little bit more. The Breville BTA720XL Bit More toaster also features a ‘Lift & Look’ Lever which raises and lowers the carriage to show the browning progress without interrupting the toasting cycle. Additionally, the high lift feature raises the carriage approximately a 1/2 inch making it easier to remove smaller items such as English Muffins.

What reviewers liked
Excellent in full batch toasting. Excellent in color range toasting. Excellent in one slice toasting. Very Good in ease of use. Excellent in ease of cleaning. Shows progress on panel. Deep toaster wells (>5.2 in.).
The stainless steel two-slot Breville BTA720XL Bit More Toaster (2-Slice), along with our four-slice upgrade pick, produced the most consistent toast of any toaster—golden brown all over with no white patches or lines—even after several back-to-back batches. It also offers a toast-saving “A Bit More” button that allows you to add a little more time to an underdone slice, and a “Lift & Look” lever that allows you to peek at the doneness of your slice without interrupting the toasting cycle.
Once your toast is ready, an alarm sounds so that you and everyone in your house will know it’s officially time for breakfast. You can adjust the audible alarm to sound either high or low and mute it if the proclamation seems like a tad much. Extra design bonuses include an LED toasting indicator, automatic toasting carriages, and a cool-touch die-cast metal exterior. The Lift and Look feature also allows you to take a sneak peak at the toasting progression without interrupting the cycle. It is a little bulky given its 15-inch length, but the concealed cord housing make stowing it both convenient and easy.
In that case, look to the super-sleek Breville BTA830XL, a streamlined appliance with simple controls and some highly intuitive features that you probably haven't seen on a toaster before. Fitted with extra-long slots for all kinds of bread (or four slices of sandwich bread), the BTA830XL is a surprisingly unobtrusive addition to your countertop. Set your shade level on the slider, put in your bread, and allow the motorized lift to quietly lower it into the toaster. The LED lights indicate your toasting progress, and when it’s done, the BTA830XL quietly raises your bread (no sudden “popping up”) and dings to let you know it’s done. If you don’t like noise in the morning, there’s an option to lower or entirely mute the sound.
Offers the highest quality and performance. Two extra-large slots can accommodate any type of bread.
What reviewers didn't like
This model had no discernible flaws in its performance.
But this toaster costs almost $60 more than our top pick, making it a bit of a splurge.
Expensive, but owners say they wouldn't think twice about making the investment again.
