Expert Reviews

What reviewers liked

One of the most impressive features of the Instant Pot is its Sauté mode. When you hit that button, the cooker kicks its 1,000-watt heating element into high gear. With a maximum temperature rated at 345 degrees Fahrenheit (174 Celsius), the inside of the Instant Pot gets good and hot.
-
This electric pressure cooker is also a very economic model. It is even cheaper than the earlier IP-LUX60 versions.
This instant pot is carefully designed with pressure sensor that control the pressure built while cooking. Safety is ensured by administering ten safety mechanisms.
The glass lid is transparent so that you can see the food while it is slow cooking. The glass lid has a stainless steel rim, handle and steam vent. It is also dishwasher-safe.
The model has a silent running mode where it handles the task at hand without making too much noise. This is great for keeping a perfect ambiance in the kitchen.
-
Another one of its spectacular functions is the keep warm function which has a maximum 12-hour time limit. If you don’t want to eat your food immediately after cooking then you can set the food to keep warm. This will ensure that you have warm and tasty food when ever you want to eat.
It has ten safety features to keep users away from any accidents, harm and danger.
The IP-Lux60 is a 6-in-1 multi-cooker, and can perform the same cooking functions as the Duo60 with the exception of yogurt making. The yogurt maker option is cool and is one of the biggest difference makers between the two.

What reviewers didn't like

It's too bad the Instant Pot doesn't have a dedicated chili program.
-
This model has no color variants. It only comes in the default silver color and it is unable to offer any aesthetic choice to the prospective buyer.
The cook cycle may take more time than the time mentioned in the booklet. As a first time user, you need to time the cooking cycles and then you’re your meal. Following the manual blindly won’t be ideal if you’re pressed for time and need to get a meal on the table in the time specified.
The IP-LUX60 does not have the ability to make yogurt like the other Instant Pot cookers.
This Instant Pot is big. So big that it is stored over the counter most of the time. It won’t fit into many kitchen cabinets and should be kept on the counter. That is a detriment for some people that have a smaller, more compact sized kitchen.
-
Instructions manual is not in detail.
Recipes and apps included in the appliance can be made better and can be added with some more.
The IP-LUX60 has just a high setting only
We dismissed the Lux because it has only one pressure level (high), while the Duo has two (low and high).
